Reports of a man holding a gun to his head in old town Bandon. Brian has a long history of being a felon in possession of a weapon. Deputy arrives on scene and asks for additional resources and less lethal options. During the first minutes of the standoff, Brian fires a shot into the air. Numerous times Brian threatened to shoot vehicles driving by during the standoff. After about a hour, police take Brian into custody. All officers on scene were extremely patient and professional. Here is a message from the Bandon chief of police. Chief Dhillon wants to let the public know the large law enforcement presence and “Armed standoff” at 1st St SW and Oregon Ave SW is over. There is no danger to the public, Brian Adam Gulseth was taken into custody for: Felon in Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Menacing. There is no danger to the public at this time. Chief Dhillon also wants to thank Oregon State Police, Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Coos Bay Police and Coquille Police for their assistance.
