CCSO: On 01/31/2025, around 2:20 AM, North Coos dispatch received a 3rd party report of a disturbance said to be occurring at a residence on 6th Street in Lakeside. The caller reported his female friend had requested him to call law enforcement on her behalf due to an intoxicated male at her residence was destroying items. Deputy H. Francis responded and upon arrival, she discovered the involved female was injured and the male had left the residence. The involved female claimed she was assaulted by the male, Nicholas J. Owsinek (32), whom she was in a domestic relationship with. After completing the interview with the female, Deputy Francis and Sgt. A. Slater began looking for Nicholas. Soon after, Nicholas was located at the intersection of Airport Way and Spinreel Road. Subsequently, Nicholas was placed under arrest and transported to jail with the requested charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Domestic Assault IV.

•••Man arrested on several charges after a 911 call of a disturbance and subsequent crash reported in Lakeside••• On March 13th, 2024, at 9:45 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a disturbance in progress on North 6th Street in Lakeside, Oregon. Deputies H. Francis and S. Starr responded to the area. Deputy Francis responded to the residence on 6th Street, and Deputy Starr was diverted to a crash on Airport Way. During the investigation, it was learned that the suspect, Nicholas J. Owsinek (33), fled from the residence on 6th Street in his white GMC pickup truck. Deputies learned that this was the same truck that was involved in the crash on Airport Way a short time later. Deputy Starr contacted the pick-up driver, who was identified as Nicholas J. Owsinek (33). Nicholas was arrested on the charge of Domestic Menacing from Deputy Francis’ investigation. Nicholas was charged additionally with Reckless Driving and Driving Under the influence of intoxicants from Deputy Starr’s investigation into the crash. Nicholas J. Owsinek was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and remains in custody (at the time of this press release). The vehicle was towed from the location by Mast Brothers Towing.
