•••Bandon man's attempt to elude Sheriff’s Deputy ends with his arrest on several charges••• On October 12th, 2023, at 3:47 p.m., a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy patrolling in the Barview area attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a multicolored motorcycle for several traffic violations. It should be noted the deputy had previously seen the motorcycle parked at a residence where stolen property, including guns, had been located and illegal narcotics had been seized in the past few months. The single male motorcycle operator failed to stop, and a vehicle chase ensued. The suspect fled on the bike from pursuing law enforcement at speeds over 90 mph throughout the Barview Area. The pursuit ended when the suspect had to slow to approximately five mph on S. Spring due to the large potholes in the road. The Deputy was able to get in front of the suspect and remove him from the motorcycle at this time without injury. The suspect, Casey J. Carlson (36), was arrested without incident. He was transported to the Coos County Jail on the charges of Elude by Vehicle, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering x3 where he was booked and remains in custody. Mr. Carlson’s motorcycle was towed from the location by Mast Brothers Towing.
