On December 19th, 2023, Deputy K. Mong responded to a residence on Highway 101 in Bandon for a large-scale burglary of a residence. It was reported that several firearms and several hundred thousand dollars in cash, gold, and silver were stolen from the property. An investigation was initiated with the assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Douglas County Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) and spearheaded by the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team (SCINT) and the Coos County Sheriff’s Office. This investigation resulted in the application and service of (6) search warrants in Coos, Curry, and Douglas Counties. Several firearms, over one hundred thousand dollars in currency, (3) vehicles, and pounds of various controlled substances, including methamphetamine and marijuana, have been seized. To date, the investigation has resulted in the following arrests: Matthew Knapp: (45) Burglary I, Aggravated Theft I, Theft I (2 counts), Criminal Mischief I. Daniel Knapp: (55) Theft I, Burglary I, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Kyle Vanalstine: (29) Burglary I, Theft I (2 counts) with pending charges for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Methamphetamine. Rebecca Aseere: (23) Pending charges for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Methamphetamine.

On January 24, 2023, at about 8:46 a.m. Bandon Police Officer Emma Owens observed a gray BMW SUV type vehicle, fail to obey a traffic control device and initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Kyle Vanalstine 28 years of age, and Rebeca Aseere 21 years of age. Deputy Michael Smith from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office advised Officer Owens he had probable cause for both Kyle and Rebeca’s arrest on the charges of Forgery I, Theft I and Criminal Conspiracy to commit a Felony. An ongoing investigation revealed Kyle and Rebeca had fraudulently chased checks which had been stolen out of a purse on January 11th 2023 at Bastendorf Beach, in Coos Bay, Oregon. It was discovered by Deputy Smith during his investigation, Kyle had attempted to deposit two of the stolen checks into a Wells Fargo Bank Account, and Rebeca had cashed checks in a Felony amount (Over $1,000) near the City of Powers, Oregon. During the investigation on January 24th, Kyle and Rebeca both admitting to possession of, and using the stolen checks. Kyle and Rebeca were transported to the Coos County Jail, where they were booked into the Jail on the Charges of Forgery I, Theft I and Criminal Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. Due to more items being outstanding from the Bastendorf Beach purse theft, Deputy Smith applied for and was granted a search warrant to search the gray BMW. During the search of the vehicle, a dealer amount of several different types of illicit drugs were found in the vehicle, along with scales and drug measuring equipment. Several illicit drug dealer ledgers, a firearm, and more drug paraphrenia were found inside the vehicle and subsequently seized. After the investigation was completed the charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance were added to both Kyle and Rebeca Respectively.

On July 28 at about 10:20 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a possible overdose victim located at 67575 East Bay Road in North Bend. It was reported a man was slumped over inside of a vehicle and had a knife or razor blade in his hand. Upon arrival, deputies checked on the man, startling him awake. When the man awoke, deputies observed a handgun tucked between the seats next to the man's leg. The suspect, 26-year-old Kyle Vanalstine, was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm. User amounts of methamphetamine, heroin, Oxycodone and Buprenorphine were also located in Vanalstine's vehicle.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s office arrested a couple for possession of heroin and child abuse Tuesday afternoon. The Sheriff’s office said they stopped a vehicle on I-80 near mile marker 394 just west of Shoemaker’s Truck Stop. They saw a male driver, a female passenger and a baby in a car seat. During the stop, they noticed empty bundles commonly used to store heroin and then they found full bundles of heroin. LSO said they found .5 grams of heroin and .5 grams of suspected meth. The empty heroin bundles were inches away from the baby in the car seat and touched the baby’s pacifier, according to LSO. 23-year-old Kaylin Wilson and 24-year-old Kyle Vanalstine of Pennsylvania were arrested and and the baby was taken into protective custody. https://www.klkntv.com/lso-arrested-a-couple-for-child-abusethey-exposed-babys-pacifier-to-heroin-cases/
