A Thursday morning raid at a Melrose-area home by the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team resulted in a seizure of large amounts of both "crystal" Methamphetamine and "black tar" Heroin, according to the DINT report. With assistance from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police, DINT arrested two people at the home on Cleveland Hill Road on outstanding arrest warrants. Officials say they seized several ounces of illicit narcotics "clearly intended for sale(s)." Steven Kateley, 33, of Roseburg was arrested for parole violation and additionally charged with unlawful possession and delivery of both methamphetamine and heroin based on evidence found at the scene. Cassandra Murray, 26, of Roseburg was arrested for failure to appear on a previous heroin possession charge, and additionally charged with the same crimes as Kateley. Additionally, Cole Carter, 29, of Myrtle Creek, was cited at the residence for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. DINT says that cumulatively, about 11.6 ounces of crystal meth was seized, with a street value of approximately $10,000, while nearly two ounces of tar-heroin seized from the home has a street value of about $2500. Authorities say additional charges are possible as the investigation continues. Both Kateley and Murray were lodged in the Douglas County Jail.
