COOS BAY MAN ARRESTED ON WARRANTS AND ELUDE CHARGES The Coos Bay Police Department (CBPD) arrested a Coos Bay man on multiple charges, including two felony warrants, following a vehicle pursuit. On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at about 1:10 p.m., a CBPD officer attempted a traffic stop on an older Chevrolet pickup on Highway 101 near Ivy St. The CBPD officer recognized the driver of the pickup as 34-year-old Christopher Page of Coos Bay. Mr. Page, who had two active felony warrants for his arrest, fled from the officer in the pickup northbound on Highway 101. As Mr. Page fled from the officer, he sideswiped another vehicle also traveling northbound on Highway 101. Officers from the CBPD, North Bend Police Department (NBPD), Coquille Indian Tribal Police (CQTP), Coos County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) responded to the area to aid with the pursuit. Stop sticks were successfully deployed, which deflated the front tires on the vehicle. Mr. Page continued to flee until stop sticks were deployed a second time, deflating the rear tires of the vehicle. Mr. Page eventually crashed into the yard of a North Bend residence, where he was arrested. There was minor property damage, but there were no injuries from the crash. Following the pursuit and crash, CBPD officers wrote and executed a search warrant on the vehicle and its contents, finding a firearm and ammunition inside. Mr. Page was transported and lodged at the Coos County Jail, where he was lodged on the following charges: CBPD felony warrant charging Assault III, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Assault 4, Oregon State Parole Board felony warrant charging Parole Violation, and new charges of Elude, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver, Reckless Driving, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
