CBPD responded to a report of a fight and shots fired in the Empire area. According to witnesses, life-long ferals Roger Gideon and Chris Grove were arguing with an unknown female outside a residence. The homeowner asked them to leave and they refused. One of the bums attacked the homeowner with a knife, and another bum had their dog attack the homeowner who then fired his gun at the dog, hitting both the dog and Chris Grove. The homeowner sustained bite marks from the dog, and a stab wound on his forearm and a slash across his face from the knife attack. Instead of arresting the bums for assault, CBPD arrested the homeowner for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Assault, and Harassment. They claim the investigation is still ongoing, so maybe they will prosecute the bums, but don't hold your breath because we all know how much the Coos Bay establishment loves their bums. How much worse does the crime problem have to get for our leaders to step up and create meaningful change? How many homeowners have to get attacked, and how many bums need to get shot before enough people wake up and demand change?

NBPD served CCSO warrants” on 51-yea old Scott Michael Bonasera charging Unlawful Possession of Meth, FTA on Criminal Citation, and Unlawful Cutting & Transporting of Forest Products, Theft III. Bonasera transported to CCJ. 56-year old Christopher Allen Grove arrested on NBPD warrant charging Criminal Trespass II and was cited in lieu of custody.
