One man arrested and charged with several crimes including possession of fentanyl and possession of a stolen firearm••• Over the past month, Detective B. Davis from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, currently assigned to the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team (S.C.I.N.T.), conducted an extensive narcotics investigation throughout the Coos County area. As a result of this investigation, Detective B. Davis applied for and was granted a search warrant for a residence at 2960 Broadway Ave, North Bend, Oregon. S.C.I.N.T. Director Sgt. A. Whittenburg from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Coos County Emergency Response Team (ERT) with the execution of the search warrant due to concerns of possible weapons, including firearms, being possessed by an occupant of the residence. On the morning of December 7, 2023, the multi-agency team conducted a briefing at the North Bend Police Department before serving the search warrant at the residence. At approximately 9:30 a.m., the ERT team, along with Officers from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, North Bend Police Department, Coos Bay Police Department, and Coquille Tribal Police Department, executed the search warrant at 2960 Broadway Ave, North Bend, Oregon. Michael G. O’Neill (69) was arrested at the location, and a loaded firearm was located on his person at the time of his arrest. This firearm was later found to be listed as stolen and had previously been reported to the North Bend Police Department. Over 2000 fentanyl M/30 pills were seized, along with a large amount of methamphetamine and packaging material. Four additional firearms were located and seized, along with a small amount of heroin and marijuana. Michael G. O’Neill (69) was transported to the Coos County Jail by the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, where he was booked on several charges, including felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, unlawful possession of fentanyl, unlawful manufacture of fentanyl, unlawful delivery of fentanyl, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful delivery of methamphetamine.
