Deputies were called because he was threatening his girlfriend. When they arrived he became aggressive and tried to flee. After multiple tazed deployments, deputies took him into custody. Potter senior is being arrested for a 2022 warrant for failure to appear on the charges of 2 counts of assault 3 and 2 counts of menacing.

Ricky Potter, 39, was arrested and charged by police with being a felon in possession of a firearm, menacing, two counts of first-degree kidnapping and fourth-degree assault (domestic.) He was taken to Coos County jail, where he is being held on $1million bail.
