On the night of February 25, 2024, at approximately 11:12 PM, the Coos County Dispatch received a report of a criminal trespass at a residence on Pettit Lane in North Bend. Deputies Z. Smith and K. Mong were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the deputies discovered multiple individuals in the living room of the residence. Despite initial attempts to evade contact, the individuals were eventually detained after the homeowner granted permission for forced entry. The individuals, identified as Danielle Betts (32), Travis Roland (39), James Fry (44), and Courtney Beasley (47) were found to have unlawfully occupied the residence. It was revealed during the investigation that Travis and Courtney had entered the residence about a month prior, claiming squatter’s rights. The remaining suspects subsequently joined them a couple of weeks later. Travis and Courtney were arrested on charges of Burglary Second Degree, Criminal Mischief Third Degree, and Theft of Services. The other individuals were issued criminal citations for the same offenses. While en route to the Coos County Jail with Travis and Courtney, two additional suspects, Scott Denardo (42) and Lindsay Wright (31), arrived at the residence and were also issued criminal citations for the same offenses. All suspects’ property was removed from the residence, which was then secured. Travis and Courtney were booked, processed, and subsequently released as per the requirements of SB48.

A citizen called into CBPD, stating he saw James walk into the trashy single wide trailer on the corner of kruse and 2nd street, leading to his arrest. CBPD arrested James Fry on 4 active warrants. He refused to identify himself but the cops know who he is. Fry was transported to CCJ.

Suspect has a warrant. Last seen at the boat gambling room and McDonald’s wearing a black hoodie and Echo ball cap. He was also seen walking back and forth multiple times between the trashy trailer on 2nd. St. and one of the streets by the bachelors inn.

•••Coos Bay man arrested on several outstanding warrants after trespassing on Rayonier Timber Property••• On September 13th, 2023, at 4:30 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call from a Rayonier Timber Security Officer advising a man was trespassing on private timber property. Sergeant J. Boswell responded to the area of Mudder Hill on Rayonier Timber property where he met with the Security Officer. Sgt. Boswell was advised upon contact the suspect had disappeared into the brush. Sgt. Boswell checked the area and located the man who was identified as James Fry (46) of Coos Bay. Upon contact with Sgt. Boswell, Mr. Fry said he thought he had " Several warrants” for his arrest. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center confirmed this information and advised Mr. Fry had multiple warrants out for his arrest, with the original charges being Fail to Register Sex Offender x3, Theft III, Unlawful Cut/Harvest Forest Products, Fail to Appear on Criminal Citation. James Fry was taken into custody and transported to the Coos County Jail, where he remains in custody.

According to an entry on the CBPD log for March 31, 7:23 p.m., Coos River Hwy. & Catching Slough, “from traffic stop,” 42-year old James Allen Fry arrested on two CCSO warrants charging Failure to Report as Sex Offender X2, and Unlawful Cut/Transport of Special Forest Products & Theft III, “cited in lieu of custody.”
