Bandon police chase a white “crotch rocket” down 101, south of Bandon onto Bethel mountain lane. While searching for the motorcycle, deputies drive down Marple lane off of Bethel mountain road. At the end of Marple Ln, they find an abandoned house and in the garage is Daniel Drew spray painting a red 4 runner black. The deputies recognize the vehicle as one recently stolen from Coos Bay. Deputies verify the VIN and confirm the 4 runner was stolen. While on scene, deputies run the VIN on a ford pickup and it comes back as stolen out of north bend also. Punk wanna-be crime ring busted. Deputies only charge Drews with two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. No conspiracy or other charges related to “organized crime” as defined by ORS 180.600.
