A concerned citizen wrote a letter to a local newspaper to petition the government for a redress of grievances, and the newspaper published the letter in the editorial section. David Milliron (North Bend City Manager) got upset because the article was critical of the mayor, so he decided to launch an investigation to determine the identity of the citizen. He then announced the identity of the citizen at the next city council's public meeting in attempt to intimidate the citizen. Worth noting is that only seconds after doxing the concerned citizen, he announced that he is a "huge first amendment person". Even more shocking is that the mayor and city council just sat there and let it happen. "Amendment I: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." https://theworldlink.com/opinion/letters/letter-time-for-change/article_ec6c24be-fd6e-11ec-8ab1-832374ef0878.html
