Reports of a Coquille police officer trying to pull over a red Durango because the driver appears to be under the influence. The vehicle does not yield and heads towards Coos Bay on 42. Coos Bay officers set up spike strips on 101 as the vehicle makes it to the 101/42 junction. The driver gets out of the vehicle and runs from police after driving 30 feet off the road, trying to avoid the spikes. Within only a few feet, police deploy 2 tazers, stopping the driver in his tracks and take the driver into custody. Driver is kenneth Edwards. He is charged with felony elude, misdemeanor elude, resisting arrest, hit and run x2, DUI and multiple other charges.
