On September 20, 2024, Coos County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) deputies responded to LTM Truck Repair on Shinglehouse Road in Coos Bay, to locate a man who had failed to register as a sex offender since 2022. At approximately 8:20 p.m. deputies located Robert V. Mayea, 56, in the LTM's parking lot and took him into custody. After searching Mayea, deputies discovered a small rock of methamphetamine in his pocket, weighing less than a gram. The substance was seized as evidence and will be tested at the state crime lab. Mayea was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and processed on charges of: Possession of Methamphetamine Failure to Register as a Sex Offender
