A 2 block radius near Libby and Wiltshire was shut down by police tonight while they searched for a wanted subject. After hours of searching and investigating, Dakota Maine was transported to jail and lodged for a very short time before being released back into the wild. This location is a known hangout for many feral humans.

Seen at 330 south wall. The night before, a stolen box trailer was seen parked at the same address. This neon is what he is driving right now.

Charged with burglary in the first degree theft in the first degree, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, unlawful entry into an vehicle and criminal mischief in the second degree. Sentenced to 55 months in prison.

On July 29, 2017 the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to 91213 Cape Arago Highway for a report of a residential burglary. During the course of the investigation, the responding Deputy learned that a Cannondale racing bicycle valued at over $2,500 was taken from the residence. While checking the nearby area for evidence, the Deputy learned that Oregon State Police had located Dakota Maine in a stolen vehicle near the residence. The stolen bicycle was located in the brush near the stolen vehicle in a location where a Senior Trooper reported seeing Maine just prior to contacting him. Maine was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle and Criminal Trespass II by Oregon State Police. Maine was also charged with Burglary I and Theft I in relation to the Sheriff’s Office case. The bicycle was returned to it’s owner. Maine is currently held at the Coos County Jail in lieu of $190,000 bail.

“officer advised subject detained for UEMV and theft in progress,” 21-year old Dakota M. Maine, Coos Bay, charged with two-counts of Unauthorized Entry Motor Vehicle, Theft II & Criminal Trespass II. Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille. “Stolen property was returned to owners. 2 bikes taken to bike locker, unable to enter LEDS without Serial Numbers (officer will follow up at later date).”
